First tomato of the season!

Posted 5/11/2015 11:42am by John and Aimee Good.

1st Tomato

The farm crew spotted the first fruit on the tomato plants in the high tunnel last week. You can see the little green tomato baby in this picture on the left. Very exciting! Although the high tunnel is unheated, the extra warmth it provides allows us to put out tomatoes in mid-April. We put a small bumblebee hive in the tunnel to help assure good pollination of the flowers. We are pleased that the tomatoes  are growing quite well, and are hopeful for an early harvest, possibly by early July!

First Shares

Mark your calendars! We expect the first days of CSA pickup to be Tuesday June 2nd and Friday June 5th. We will send out pickup instructions and information in the weeks to come. Keep an eye on your inbox.

We will send out the pickup list shortly, so you can check your day. You can also check it by logging into your member account. There are more members signed up for Tuesdays than Fridays, so if anyone is able and would like to switch to Friday pickup, please let us know. Thanks!

*We forgot to include the newest share offering in the update last week. Read about it below. . .

WE-PICK SHARE: Based on member requests, we are offering a new share for those of you who have limits on your time or physical ability to utilize the U-pick garden (which is already included in your share price).
