"Do I have to pay it all at once?" and other CSA questions.

Posted 2/7/2018 11:14am by John and Aimee Good.

Everyone has questions about the logistics of committing to a weekly vegetable subscription for 6 months. Here we answer some of the most common ones . . .

"Do I have to pay it all at once?"

Simple answer : no.

20% deposit is all that is required to sign up. For a small vegetable share, the deposit would be $125. The remainder can be paid in 4 equal monthly installments of $125, March 30 through June 30.

Payment reminders are sent via email. We accept personal checks or you may use your online banking bill-pay system. We also accept credit card payments via Paypal, or ACH transfers via Dwolla (free, quick setup).

"What happens if I cannot pick up my share on my pick-up day?"

This is not a problem. You have plenty of options here:

1) You may have someone else pick up for you that week.

2) You can pick up on another day or at a different pickup location.

3) You can schedule a "hold" on your share and either donate your share for that week or request a "double share" for another week.

We realize that people have busy schedules, and also often plan vacations in the summer. So, we are set up for all members to be able to use 2 "double shares" during the season, to makeup for missed weeks. Or members can choose to donate their share to our local food bank when they are away.

Scheduling pickup changes is easy!

Members can schedule pickup holds, double shares, and pickup location changes by logging into their member account on our website, or by emailing the farmers, by by Sunday evening of the week the change is desired.

"Can I share a farm share?"

Of course! We have lots of members who share with a friend or neighbor, either alternating weekly pickups, or meeting at the farm or pickup site. One person signs up as the primary member, and then enters the partner's information (name, address, phone, and email) as the secondary member. Both members will get all the weekly email updates and have access to the Upick garden. (Upick amounts must also be split between shared members.)

"When and where will I pick up my share?"

CSA shares can be picked up on the farm, Tuesdays from 1-6 pm, Fridays from 2-7 pm, Saturdays from 9am-noon, or Thursday afternoons at several delivery locations throughout the Lehigh Valley, including Allentown, Trexlertown, Kutztown, Hellertown, and more. See Membership Details for more specifics on current pickup locations!
